Update: As of 3 p.m. Tuesday, United Illuminating reported that the large outage in Shelton had been completely restored.
SHELTON, Conn. -- Hundreds of people are without power in Shelton on Tuesday afternoon as strong winds descend upon Fairfield County.
According to United Illuminating, there were 885 customers in Shelton without power as of 2 p.m.
An estimated time for recovery was not immediately available.
