Shelton's Huntington Branch Library Cooks Up An Icky Contest

SHELTON, Conn. — Kids and teens may not be sure whether it’s nearly Valentine’s Day or Halloween next Monday at the Icky Sweets Cooking Contest at the Huntington Branch Library in Shelton.

For the contest, young chefs are encouraged to make an edible snack that tastes great but looks gross and should be limited only by their imaginations.

Contestants will also act as judges in the contest, which starts at 5:30 p.m.

The winner will receive a copy of Roald Dahl’s “Revolting Recipes,” and one runner-up will win a gelatin mold in the shape of a human heart.

Entries must be nut-free, and ingredient lists must be provided, along with at least 12 servings of the icky sweet.
