Shelton Farmers' Market To Ring In New Year With Food, Festivities

SHELTON, Conn. -- The Shelton Farmers’ Market Association will hold a special New Year’s celebration from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 2 at the Shelton Farmers’ Market building.

This market will offer the community an opportunity to share in the abundance of local agricultural products still available in the winter while talking to the farmers who grow the food.

The market is located at 100 Canal St.

GROW Shelton/Liquid Lunch, Joe Ballaro of Bar 140, and Seasonal Sweets and Catering will offer freshly made, locally grown food.

Customers will find bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches and other seasonal treats.

The special for the celebration will be smoked pork shoulder and smoked beef brisket, along with loaded baked potatoes and collard greens made with meat and veggies from Stone Gardens Farm of Shelton.

Live music will be provided by Joe Ballaro; Fred Monahan, owner of Stone Gardens Farm; and friends.
