A dedication and christening of the new boat will begin at 11 a.m. at Haverstraw Bay Park, 21 Gagan Road.

McCune, a longtime officer with the department, died on Sept. 12, 2016, at the age of 56.

The 35-year-member of the department began his career as a corrections officer in 1981 and later moved to the department's Patrol Division as a patrol officer in 1984. He advanced to sergeant, then a lieutenant, then captain -- the rank at which he retired in April 2016.

McCune also served 20 years on their SWAT team and as a supervisor with the marine and transport units.

The public is invited to attend the event.
