The event is from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, April 30, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 1, on the grounds of the historic Lounsbury House, 316 Main St., Ridgefield.

Carmel, N.Y., musician Erik Krieg is one of those many performers.

The festival will feature world-champion barbecue competitors, rides (including a mechanical bull), games and food for the entire family.

Live local bands from throughout the region will perform on the outdoor stage, playing a multitude of genres, such as rock, country, jazz and funk.

First to the take the festival stage Saturday, April 30 will be singer-songwriter Jerome Goosman, of Wilton, Conn., followed by pianist Michelle DeAngelis, of New Rochelle, N.Y.

Classic rock band Kings and Queens, of Schuykill County, Pa., will rock the stage before turning it over to Bethel native Joe Pacelli and Danbury resident Jesse Lynch, two multi-genre performers who play everything from reggae-funk and blues to alternative rock and folk.

The Red Hots, a Danbury-based duo, will bring life to jazz and blues standards with their blend of unique vocals, a ukulele/guitar mix and driving percussion.

Sloppy Joe and The Lunch Ladies, whose members hail from Fairfield, Westport and Weston, Conn., will wrap up the Saturday lineup with improvisational funk, salsa and rock.

Krieg will open the festival Sunday, May 1 with intimate guitar music. A self-taught guitarist, Krieg creates music that fosters an intimate environment between himself and the audience.

The indie Americana/classic rock/country band from Danbury, New Incarnation, will play in the afternoon, while Newtown natives and award-winning songwriters Lucinda and Michael conclude the festival with memorable pop and rock melodies.

More than 40 BBQ masters from across the globe will compete in this official state barbecue championship.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students and free for children under the age of 12. For a schedule of performers – or to purchase tickets – visit www.RidgefieldBBQCT.com.
