Alison Villanueva Joins Ridgefield Schools As New Supervisor Of Humanities

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Ridgefield School officials named Dr. Alison Villanueva the new Supervisor of Humanities for the district.

Villanueva most recently served as the Principal of Shelter Rock Elementary School in Danbury. Prior to that, she was the co-director of studies in educational innovation at teachers college, Columbia University.

During her time at Columbia, Villanueva founded and managed the Global Learning Alliance an international university school partnership co-founded with the Scarsdale Public Schools.

Villanueva earned her Ph.D. in English Education from Teachers College, Columbia University in

2013. She will begin in her new role on Monday, Sept. 12.
