5 Ridgefield Elementary Schools Ranked Among State's Top 20

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Ridgefield is home to five elementary schools ranked in the Top 20 in Connecticut by Niche, an education research website.

Branchville was the highest ranking elementary school in Ridgefield, coming in at No. 9 overall, followed by Barlow Mountain at No. 12, Veterans Park at No. 14, Farmingville at No. 15 and Scotland Elementary at No. 16.

Niche collected data and ranked each elementary school in the state based on the following criteria:

Academics
Overall district experience
Teachers grade
Student culture and diversity

Branchville excelled in academics with a 99 percent math proficiency score and a 95 percent in reading proficiency.

New Canaan's South, East and West Elementary schools took the top three spots in the ranking, respectively.

Overall, schools in Fairfield County overwhelmed the top of the rankings:
