RIDGEFIELD, Conn. More than 100 members of the Ridgefield Mens Club came together Wednesday for their annual State of the State presentation from state Rep. John Frey (R-Ridgefield).
According to a release, during the presentation, Frey discussed why it has been difficult for Connecticut to create and keep jobs with in the state, citing the states history of high taxes and heavy business regulation.
In an hour, Frey summarized significant legislation that was taken up during this years short legislative session.
Often times, because of the long distant from Ridgefield to Hartford, many Ridgefield residents have trouble hearing about the legislation that is being proposed at the Capitol, said Frey in the release. He said that all of the legislation in Hartford, in some way, has a direct effect on the people of Ridgefield.
Following the presentation, Frey took questions on more local issues from Ridgefield schools to economic development of the area.
