Surveillance Video Shows Two Men Pulling On Car Handles After Man Reports Theft At Country Club

Detectives in Fairfield County are attempting to track down a pair of suspects who were caught on camera pulling on random door handles attempting to break into parked vehicles at a Darien country club, police said.

Officers from the Darien Police Department received a report from a man on Thursday, Aug. 15, stating that he parked his Jeep Wrangler in the Wee Burn Club parking lot before making a short trip inside.

Police said that when the man returned to his vehicle, he found that his wallet, which had an undisclosed amount of cash, IDs and bank cards, had been taken.

According to police, a review of the club’s surveillance showed a black SUV with two men inside. The two men proceeded to leave the SUV and pulled on the handles of multiple vehicles. In the video, one of the men can be seen opening the driver’s side door of the victim’s Jeep and entering before taking off.
