RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- The Ridgefield Police Department handed out 21 tickets on Friday, March 28, in an effort to curb distracted driving, according to The Ridgefield Press.
Ridgefield partnered with Redding, Bethel, Newton and Brookfield police to "pull over violators in the area who are either texting while driving or talking on their phone 'held in the air,'" according to the report.
Police ticketed drivers along Route 35, Route 7 and Main Street, according to the report. The operation led to the arrest of three drivers on suspended license misdemeanors, according to The Ridgefield Press.
