Pregnant Woman Taken To Danbury Hospital After Head-on Crash In Ridgefield

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. – A head-on collision sent a pregnant woman to the hospital Monday before snarling traffic along Route 7, according to the Ridgefield Press.

The woman, whose name was not released, was said to be 35 weeks pregnant, according to the Ridgefield Press, which reported that the incident occurred about 1:40 p.m. on Route 7 near Simpaug Turnpike.

The woman’s car, a red Subaru, collided with a “large panel van type delivery truck,” according to the Ridgefield Press, which reported that both drivers were taken to Danbury Hospital for treatment.

Traffic along Route 7 was backed up for quite some time as police closed several intersections in the area to investigate the crash, according to the Ridgefield Press.
