RIDGEFIELD, Conn. Early Tuesday morning, a 32-year-old Ridgefield woman was struck by a car as she was walking past a Sunset Lane driveway, the Ridgefield police report.
According to the police, Bridgeport resident Caston Lowe, 63, was backing out of the Sunset Lane driveway when he backed over Alicia Steinfeld, 32. Lowe didnt realize he had run over Steinfeld until workers from a house across the street yelled for him to stop, the report said.
The report said Lowe pulled forward to get the car away from Steinfeld before turning the car off to go look at the back of the car. It was then, the report said, Lowe found Steinfeld on the ground.
Police said Steinfeld was brought to Danbury Hospital for treatment. Her status is unknown at this time.
Lowe is not being charged at this time as it was private property, police said.
