Man Charged After Argument Turns Violent In Canal Park, Westport Police Say

At 12:15 p.m. Sunday, June 16, officers were called to the apartment complex for a reported assault, said Westport Police.

When they arrived, officers learned the victim was allegedly struck in the head by William Lyons after an argument over whose turn it was to visit a mutual friend living in the complex, according to police.

Lyons left the scene prior to police arrival but was located in his apartment where he was taken into custody, said the report.

Lyons was taken to the Wilton Police Department and charged with 53a-182 disorderly conduct and released on a promise to appear. He is due in Norwalk court on Thursday, June 27.
