Edgar Palencia, age 25, of Stamford, was busted by the Stamford Police Department's NARC squad on Tuesday, March 2, after surveilling him for several weeks, said Captain Richard Conklin.

According to Conklin, Palencia, agents had watched Palencia for several weeks make deals across the city, including on March 2, in which officers arrested Adali Sanchez, 34, of Stamford who purchased cocaine from Palencia while he was under surveillance.

Following the sale, agents moved in and arrested Palencia who had several bags of cocaine in addition to $1,755 in cash, Conklin said.

After his arrest, Palencia agreed to let agents search his home where police seized 82.4 grams of cocaine and more than $8,000 in cash, for a total of $10,566 in cash, Conklin said.

Palencia was charged with:

  • Sale of narcotics
  •  Possession of narcotics
  • Possession of narcotics with intent to sell
  • Operating a drug factory

"This was a great proactive investigation by the unit that took another drug dealer off the streets," Conklin said.
