RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- The Ridgefield Police Department is still accepting applications for its Citizen Police Academy, which will begin March 29 and meet every Tuesday.
"Connecting the community and the police, the Citizen Police Academy will educate participants about various aspects of police work," a department Facebook post noes. "Participants will gain insight into how their police department works and provides services to the community."
A few of the subjects participants will learn are crime scene investigation, firearms, TASER, speed enforcement, DUI and the department's history.
The Academy will meet on Tuesdays from 6-9 p.m., beginning on March 29, for eight weeks. Classes will be held at police headquarters. Applicants must live or work in Ridgefield, and be at least 18 when the application is submitted.
