RIDGEFIELD, Conn. – Irene D. Sluis of Ridgefield died Oct. 28 at Danbury Hospital. She was 81.
Sluis was born Feb. 4, 1931, in Chicago Heights, Ill., to Henry and Hilda Heine Tatgenhorst. She had retired as a secretary for Andersen Consulting.
She is survived by two daughters, Gayle (Arn) Wachs, of Fort Collins, Colo., and Holly (Bob) Lopez, of Burlington, Conn.; a son, Bruce (Lee Boucino) Sluis, of Bristol, Conn.; two brothers, Glenn Tatgenhorst, of Ridgefield, and Howard Tatgenhorst, of Tinley Park, Ill.; two sisters-in-law, Betty Tatgenhorst, of Guyton, Ga., and Marion Tatgenhorst, of Tinley Park; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Harold and Kenneth Tatgenhorst.
Visitation was held Monday at Kane Funeral Home in Ridgefield. Burial was held Tuesday at St. Mary Cemetery in Ridgefield.
