Sheriff’s deputies stopped Michael Frechette shortly before 2 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 3, when he was caught traveling 75 mph in a posted 45 mph zone and failing to maintain his lane on Country Road 101 in Brookhaven.
During the subsequent traffic stop, deputies determined that Frechette was under the influence and he failed multiple Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. He was then taken into custody.
At the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office in Yaphank, it was determined that Frechette had a blood alcohol content of .11 percent, and he was arrested for driving while intoxicated. He was also cited for speeding and failing to maintain a lane of travel.
