The reward, for information that leads to the location, arrest and conviction of Hector Cruz-Diaz, 35, was issued Thursday after New York State Police asked for help from the public in locating the Danbury resident.

The Brewster Village Court issued an arrest warrant in July for Cruz-Diaz, after he failed to appear in court, state police said.

Cruz-Diaz, who faces felony charges of attempted first-degree rape and second-degree burglary, is accused of entering a 24-year-old woman's home on Main Street in Brewster, N.Y., on March 20, 2016, and trying to rape her, state police said.

An acquaintance of the victim, Cruz-Diaz fled the house before police arrived on the scene, police said.

Cruz-Diaz is a Hispanic male who is 5-foot-3 and weighs about 140 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair.

He is also known to have previously lived in the Putnam County, N.Y., area.
