RIDGEFIELD, Conn. – A man on Peaceable Ridge Road was attacked by a rabid raccoon Feb. 20 after he dropped a sandwich as he was walking to the front door of his house, reports The Ridgefield Press.
Lennart Belok was clawed by the raccoon on the leg after he bent over to pick up his dropped sandwich at about 8:30 p.m. The raccoon did not bite him but wouldn’t let go, according to the report.
The raccoon was put down by animal control and tested for rabies the state Department of Public Health, the Ridgefield Press said.
