Darien Police say they responded via police boat to the area of Long Neck Point on a report of a kayaker who had possibly capsized on Friday, Sept. 13 around 10:45 a.m.

The man who made the report allegedly told police that he had gone kayaking with his adult son but had lost sight of him in the area.

The capsized kayaker was located approximately half a mile outside Noroton Bay, police say.

The kayaker was brought aboard the police boat with his kayak, returned to the shore and successfully reunited with his father, police say.

The son reported no medical issues but stated that he was exhausted from being in the water for more than half an hour, police say.

The two men were transported back to their origin of Cover Beach in Stamford, according to police.
