As a gale whips through the state, cities and towns are being left with downed tree limbs, snapped electric wires, and an abundance of calls to 911. In Old Lyme, there's a report that a tractor-trailer rolled over on the highway.

The rain and wind gusts are expected to continue into the evening. A wind advisory is in effect until 1 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 1, according to the National Weather Service.

On Monday, Nov. 30, around 3:20 p.m., Old Lyme had the most power outages in Connecticut, with more than 3,000 Eversource customers reporting a loss of electricity.

Meanwhile, several other communities have more than 1,000 outages each: South Windsor, East Lyme, and Waterford.

Eversource is estimating power will be restored by around 8:30 p.m. in the Waterford area but did provide few other estimates at the time.

South Windsor Police said they have been “inundated” with calls reporting storm damage. At the time, they were asking that people only call in case of an emergency.

In Marlborough, public works employees were working on removing a tree tangled in wires on Garden Lane.

On Old Lyme, Weather is reporting that the wind blew a tractor-trailer over.
