The March 30 show will feature James E. Ransome, and Brian Hamill will be featured at the April 13 event.

“We are launching this series with two very famous faces - renowned illustrator and fine artist James E. Ransome, and famous photographer/photojournalist Brian Hamill," Pat D’Antonio, executive director at Gallery@Rhinebeck, said. "These two are widely known and deeply respected, and we are really excited to connect their fellow locals to their work and their messages."

Currently a member of the Society of Illustrators, Ransome has received both the Coretta Scott King Award for Illustration and the IBBY Honor Award for his book, The Creation. He is also the recipient of a Coretta Scott King Honor Award for Illustration for Uncle Jed's Barbershop which was selected as an ALA Notable Book and is currently being shown as a feature on Reading Rainbow.

Hamill, a native New Yorker, will speak about his new book, Woody Allen at Work. Hamill has been the longtime photographer for Allen; the association began in 1976 when Hamill’s brother, writer Pete Hamill, introduced Brian to the director. Within a few months, Hamill was on the set of “Annie Hall” and went on to shoot still photographs on the next 22 films Allen made.

Tickets are $15 per person. Gallery@Rhinebeck is located at 47 East Market Street in Rhinebeck. To purchase tickets for the upcoming events or to learn more, visit galleryrhinebeck.org or call 845.876.1655.
