RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- The community is welcome to experience a music Shabbat with Congregation Shir Shalom, in Ridgefield, on Friday, March 25 -- where classically trained musicians will interpret traditional Shabbat music.

A variety of musicians "will enhance the experience of prayer through music," a news release notes.

Suzanne Corey-Sahlin -- principal violist of the Ridgefield Symphony and Norwalk Symphony. She has performed at Congregation Shir Shalom previously, with the Tourmaline String Quartet, as well as with Broadway touring shows worldwide. She also plays with the Greenwich and Hudson Valley symphonies.

Gunnar Sahlin -- principal cellist of the Norwalk Symphony, prior assistant principal of the Ridgefield Symphony from 2009-2013. He is the artistic director and conductor of the Fairfield County Symphony Society. Just last year, Sahlin and Corey-Sahlin played for thousands in China with the Pizazz Symphony.

Cantor Deborah Katchko-Gray -- an amateur cellist with the Danbury Community Orchestra. While playing with the orchestra and other musical program, she has experienced students creating music on a high level.

Camden Archambeau -- principal cellist of the DCO for three years. Only 14 years old, Archambeau has already won many awards, including second place at the 2015 LIU Post Concerto Competition. He has played in many master classes, is a chorister with the Christ Church Greenwich Choir and volunteers for with Music for Youth's Residency Program, coaching string students in the Bridgeport Public School.

Rachel Li -- pianist and freshman at Brookfield High School. She's already won acclaim as a young pianist: she won first place in the 35th Audrey Thayer Piano Competition, and last year she won first place for her age in the 38th Renee Fisher Piano Competition. Archambeau and Li will play a cello and piano piece by Ernest Bloch using Jewish themes.

The event will begin at 7:30 p.m., and refreshments will follow the service. Congregation Shir Shalom of Westchester and Fairfield Counties is located at 46 Peaceable St., in Ridgefield.
