Ridgefield's Eighth Annual Women's Forum To Be Held in May

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. – Film producer Megan Smith-Harris will be the keynote speaker at the Ridgefield Chamber of Commerce’s 8th Annual Women’s Forum on Thursday, May 9.

The last film released by Smith-Harris was “Trial By Fire: Lives Re-Forged,” a documentary about people who have survived fires in their homes, places of work, schools and in war.

“Megan Smith-Harris is our keynote speaker and her powerful message and experience as a producer, director, actress and even comedy writer will lend itself to the serious business of how burn victims overcame circumstances to reforge their lives,” Barbara McMahon, co-chair of the event, said in a statement.

Joining Smith-Harris as speakers will be Ridgefield residents psychologist Carol Mahlstedt, Cucumber and Chamomile LLC founder Meredith Mulhearn, and author Lisa Jones.

All will speak to this year’s theme, which according to chamber Executive Director Marion Roth is “Life is a Journey.”

“This year we have everything from spiritual and emotional wellness to learning how others respond to injury, illness and change," Roth said. "The inspiration is in seeing how others respond as they rise up to meet the challenges in their lives. It is this common thread of challenge that can engage, lead and direct us all on our Journey."

Tickets for the event are $99 per person, and tables of 10 can be reserved for groups. The event will take place at the Silver Spring Country Club.

To register, visit the chamber website or call 203-438-5992.
