Ridgefield Rally, Film Screening Focuses On Plant-Based Diet

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- The Ridgefield Playhouse will hold an informational rally and screening of the documentary "PlantPure Nation" on Saturday to highlight the impact of a plant-based diet.

"PlantPure Nation" tells the story of three people determined to spread the message of the benefits of a whole foods, plant-based diet. It follows nutritional scientist and author T. Colin Campbell and his son Nelson Campbell, who directed the film, in their efforts to start healthy eating programs in the United States.

The film examines the benefits of a plant-based diet, as well as the obstacles and opposition that the two encounter as they attempt to spread their message.

The event begins Saturday, May 2, at 11:15 a.m., when T. Colin Campbell and Nelson Campbell will hold an informational rally on the steps of the Playhouse, located at 80 East Ridge. There will be a screening of the documentary at noon, followed by a Q&A with both Campbells as well as producer John Corry.
