RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- The Ridgefield Chorale and Microsoft at Danbury Fair Mall will present "Video Games Live" on Sunday night at The Ridgefield Playhouse.
The evening is set to combine "the excitement of a rock concert, the power and emotion of a symphony orchestra and chorus, the technology and interactivity, stunning visuals and fun that only video games can deliver" for the event at 8 p.m. Sunday at The Ridgefield Playhouse, according to a press release.
The evening includes pre-show lobby events, including interactive game demos and a video game character costume contest. The event is underwritten by Microsoft at Danbury Fair Mall, partially underwritten by MyRideBoard.Com and is part of the Xfinity Rock Series with media sponsor CT BOOM.com.
“We created VGL to prove to the world how culturally significant and artistic video games have become…not only for gamers, but also for everyone to enjoy," said co-founder and host of Video Games Live Tommy Tallarico, according to the release. "The thing that makes VGL unique is that there are so many elements to the show. We have the orchestra and the choir all interacting in time with spectacular and beautiful visuals, rock-and-roll lighting effects, and the most up-to-date technology creating dramatic special effects. It is so important to realize that this is not just a show for gamers but that there are elements to excite everyone.”
Tickets are $75 for the orchestra, $65 for the mezzanine and $150 for VIP Backstage access tour with meet and greet. For tickets, call the box office at 203-438-5795 or order online at The Ridgefield Playhouse website.
