Online Auction Highlights Annual Fundraiser For Bergen County Group

BERGEN COUNTY, N. J. -- An iPad mini, a getaway package to Lake Placid and a signed "Downton Abbey" poster are just some of the items to be auctioned online Friday as part of the annual fundraiser for the Junior League of Bergen County, a volunteer-focused organization that draws members from Franklin Lakes, Wyckoff and other Bergen County communities.

Members of the Junior League of Bergen County attended a preview party in preparation of the group's 30th annual Festival of Trees fundraising event Friday in Paramus.

The online auction is one of the events in the Ridgewood-based league's annual Festival of Trees fundraiser, planned for Friday at the Ridgewood County Club in Paramus. The gala starts at 7 p.m. with cocktails and includes dinner and dancing.

Tickets for the dinner event are $150 each. The online auction is open to anyone for $20. For details on the online auction as well as the dinner event, visit the league's website.

This year's gala honors Barbara Bolger, a longtime member, who was integral in the founding of Woodlea House and its continuing success nearly 40 years later. Funds raised support the Junior League of Bergen County's mission to promote volunteerism and develop the potential of women to improve the community.

One of the programs gala proceeds will benefit is the annual college scholarship program for high school seniors who have shown a commitment to volunteer work, organizers said.
