For its first anniversary, on Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m., the restaurant will serve up a free buffet and live music.

"We are having this celebration because I really want to thank all my loyal customers. They made it happen," said owner Julio Cevallos, a Bethel resident. "I'm doing this as an appreciation to them."

At the party, Julliano's will serve dishes such as roast pork, pasta primavera, chicken Frances and sausage with broccoli rabe.

Before opening Julliano's, Cevallos was the head chef at Rizzuto's Wood-Fired Kitchen & Bar on Stony Hill Road in Bethel for 11 years.

"They had an open kitchen, so I got to talk to my customers. A lot of people got to know my food over there," he said.

Cevallos was born in South America, where he attended school for culinary basics. He came to the United States in 1999.

Julliano's will be introducing its spring menu next week.
