RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- The Ridgefield Chamber of Commerce recently helped unveil the Nissan LEAF electric car charging station with Bruce Bennett Nissan and The Ridgefield Playhouse.
Members of the business community were able to test drive the Nissan LEAF at the event and received a demonstration of how to use the charging station at the Ridgefield Playhouse.
“Everyone is trying to find ways to be a little more 'green' these days,” said Bruce Bennett of Bruce Bennett Nissan in Wilton. “An electric vehicle is a great way to go green. The Nissan LEAF is 100 percent electric; you'll never buy gas again.”
The playhouse is an ideal venue for such a charging station, said Allison Stockel, executive director of the playhouse.
"It makes perfect sense," she said. "You're sitting inside a movie theater or enjoying a show for several hours -- it's the perfect time to charge your electric car. And our hope is that the easier we make it for people to charge their cars, the more people will go electric."
