FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. - Little to no snow may pile up along the coast of Fairfield County on Wednesday, while towns north of the Merritt Parkway may get only a dusting.
The storm's expected impact was downgraded by the National Weather Service on Wednesday afternoon. A mix of snow and rain may hit the coast before 1 p.m. Wednesday before turning to rain that could fall through Thursday morning.
In towns farther north, such as Wilton, Easton and Weston, the storm could drop only about a half-inch of snow during the day, followed by a half-inch of sleet overnight. A winter weather advisory remains in effect in those towns.
Earlier in the day, three to five inches of snow had been forecast for central and northern Fairfield County.
