CL&P Prepares For Snowstorm Expected To Hit Norwalk

CL&P is monitoring the winter snowstorm predicted to start with intermittent snow Sunday, March 2, and continue with heavy snow Monday, March 3. Forecasts are calling for 5 to 9 inches of snow across the region, with up to 12 inches possible, the National Weather Service says.

"CL&P prepares for severe weather every day," representatives said. "The company is poised to respond to any potential impacts from this storm with a safe and timely power restoration effort."

It is monitoring the weather for potential customer impacts, and the system is in "good configuration for reliable operation, as we prepare for the next storm to enter the service area," according to a release.

CL&P work centers are preparing for activation, and equipment inventories and vehicle fueling will continue through the storm. Advance planning for snow removal at CL&P work centers and substations is also underway, a press release said.
