update: NORWALK, Conn. — The Stroffolino Bridge has been repaired and the road is open, police said.
NORWALK, Conn. — Traffic was snarled early Sunday afternoon in Norwalk after the Stroffolino Bridge became stuck in the up position, according to witnesses.
The drawbridge spans the Norwalk River between South Norwalk and East Norwalk along Washington Street near the Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk.
There was no word on when the bridge would be passable for vehicles.
Large crowds were also reported at Calf Pasture Beach in East Norwalk for the 2016 Walk to End Alzheimer's, contributing to the traffic delays in the area.
