NORWALK, Conn. -- Several roads will be closed to traffic in Norwalk on Monday as the city holds its annual Memorial Day Parade.
I-95 Exit 16 ramps will be closed from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Monday. The Norwalk Police Department also announced that there will be temporary closures along the parade route during the same timeframe.
The parade starts at Veterans Park in East Norwalk and proceeds east on Van Zant Street, then north on East Avenue prior to concluding at the Norwalk Green. Van Zant Street, East Avenue south of Route 1, and the northbound and southbound ramps of I-95 Exit 16 will be closed to all traffic.
The closure will allow the parade to proceed safely to the Norwalk Green.
Variable message signs located along I-95 and at the Exit 16 ramps will serve to notify drivers of the Exit 16 closure. All other I-95 exits in Norwalk will remain open during the parade.
