Some of the top high school girls lacrosse teams in the country will participate in a jamboree Saturday at Wilton High School. The games are in conjunction with a free clinic conducted by STX for girls in grades 4-8. The Wilton Lacrosse Association is sponsoring the event.
The high school jamboree will give fans a chance to watch some of the nations elite players. Teams returning from last years event are Wilton, New Canaan, Garden City, N.Y., Moorestown, N.J., Fayetteville-Manlius, N.Y., Longmeadow, Mass., and Christian Brothers Academy in Syracuse, N.Y.
Of the eight teams, seven finished the 2009 season ranked 117th or better in the final Laxpower national rankings out of nearly 2,400 teams.West Genesee (third) and Moorsetown (eighth) were both top-10 teams a year ago.
Wilton was a state semifinalist last year and New Canaan played in the state final. The free clinic runs from 2:30-3:30 p.m. For more information, see the Wilton Lacrosse Association Web site.
