NORWALK, Conn.– Norwalk Community College student Stephany Beltran, a student in Professor Jacek Bigosinski’s combined Architectural Design I and Interior Design II class, captured first place in a juried competition that served as the final exam for the fall semester course.
Professor Bigosinski’s students presented their architecture and interior design projects before a panel of judges for jury consideration. The judges included:
- Steve Smith, Chief Building Inspector in Westport
- Bill Andriopoulos, Principal, Andriopoulos Design Associates, based in Norwalk
- Phil Cerrone, Principal, Cerrone Architects, based in Fairfield
Beltran, a Stratford resident, and an architectural student was one of three finalists with interior design student Maki Nanko and architectural student Luke Amiot. Nanko and Amiot tied for second place.
District 8 has been conducting the award competition for more than 10 years. All three winners were recognized at a holiday lunch at Norwalk Inn and shared a $1,500 award.
