NORWALK, Conn. — Yelianni Pamela Saldana, an eighth-grader at West Rocks Middle School in Norwalk, died unexpectedly Wednesday, March 15. She was 13.

Yelianni was born Oct. 10, 2003, in San Cristobal, Dominican Republic.

"She was a bright girl, who was full of life with many dreams and aspirations," said a statement from the funeral home. "She enjoyed spending time with her family but especially with her younger sister. Words cannot describe how much she will be missed by her family and friends."

She is survived by her mother Anadely Valera; father German Saldana; sister Analia Saldana; and her grandparents and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturday, March 18, at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Ave., Norwalk.

"Our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of Yelianni Saldana, who passed away unexpectedly," said a statement from the Norwalk Public Schools. "Please join us in keeping her family in your thoughts and prayers."

The West Rocks Middle School community this week held a Green Carnation Sale to help the family pay for funeral expenses.

Lynne Moore, principal at West Rocks, said donations for funeral expenses can be made by checks payable to West Rocks Middle School, with reference to Pamela Yelianni Saldana.
