The Norwalk High School National Honor Society inducted its newest members on Wednesday night at the Norwalk Inn. It also introduced its newly elected officers: Gabrielle Nowack, president, Ryan Swick, vice-president, Katherine Pachkovsky, secretary and Mark Andino, treasurer. Beaming parents filled the room. "We are very proud of our son's accomplishments," said Lillian Viera, mother of Oliver, a new inductee. This year, 43 juniors and 1 senior were inducted into the society. The ceremony was marked by milestones and recognitions. Jay Hariton, the Honor Society's teacher advisor for the past 31 year, is retiring at the end of the school year. The Eidt family presented a plaque to be placed in the NHS lobby honoring past and future recipients of Kevin M Eidt Scholarship award. The NHS chapter of the National Honor Society is named in memory of their son Kevin who lost his life due to cardiac arrest National Honor Society president Eloise Libre was selected as this year's recipient of the scholarship. Also recognized at the event was Glenn Couture, NHS science teacher.
