NORWALK, Conn. – CBRE Group’s Westchester/Fairfield County office announced the start of the redevelopment project at 50 Washington St. — SoNo Place.

The project eventually will lead to the 190,000-square-foot, 13-story building being available for mixed-use office space ranging from 1,500 square feet to 26,000 square feet.

The upgrades under way at SoNo Place are reflective of both the historic nature of SoNo and the contemporary touches that continue to draw today’s tenants and residents to the area, according to a press release. The new design will include open ceilings, loft-style interiors with exposed beams and columns, floating ceilings decorative lighting, concrete floors and walls, steel wall covering panels, according to a press release.

Capital Equities, which owns the building, is working with the city to make improvements to the adjacent park and construct large landscaping beds on the Webster lot in front of the building, according to a press release.

“The upgrades at SoNo Place combined with the amenities, direct access to the Metro-North and all major highways, and the abundant parking that the site provides, will no doubt make this a much sought after location and draw a variety of tenants,” said David Block, a CBRE senior vice president leading the leasing efforts at the building, in a press release.
