NORWALK, Conn. — Norwalk voters re-elected all local incumbents in Tuesday's election and voted down a number of ballot questions, according to The Hour.
Democratic State Sen. Bob Duff won re-election to the 25th District, defeating Republican challenger Gregory Ehlers.
In State House District 137, Democrat incumbent Chris Perone won re-election against Republican challenger Darline Perpignan.
State Rep. Bruce Morris won re-election in District 140 after running unopposed.
In State House District 141, Republican incumbent Terrie Wood won re-election against Democrat challenger Randy Klein.
In State House District 142, Republican incumbent Fred Wilms won re-election against Working Families Party challenger Anna Duleep.
In State House District 143, Republican incumbent Gail Lavielle won re-election after running unopposed.For Registrar of Voters, Democrat Stuart W. Wells III and Republican Karen Doyle Lyons were re-elected.
There were also four "Yes" or "No" questions on the ballot. Here's how residents voted: :
- Shall the term of Mayor and Town Clerk be changed from 2 to 4 years? NO
- Shall the offices of City Treasurer, City Sheriff, and Selectman be eliminated? NO
- Shall the annual salary of each Common Council member be set at two percent (2%) of the base salary of the Mayor? NO
- Shall all Charter references to members of the Common Council be gender-neutral? YES
For the U.S. House, Rep. Jim Himes, a Democrat, defeated a challenge from Republican John Shaban of Redding, who did not run for re-election to the State House due to his Congressional run.
For the U.S. Senate, Sen. Richard Blumenthal, a Democrat, won re-election by topping Republican challenger Dan Carter of Bethel. Carter did not seek re-election to the State House due to his Senate run.
