Two people were killed in Fairfield County during an incident that put a neighborhood on high alert for several hours over the weekend.
It happened around 515 p.m., on Sunday, May 16 on Chatham Drive in Norwalk.
Norwalk Police announced on Twitter that an armed subject was in the area and told residents to shelter in place and for reporters to stay away.
“This is an active and dangerous situation,” police said on Facebook and Twitter.
Around 7 p.m., police said there was no longer a threat to the public, and residents who out and unable to return home could return.
Police later announced that two people died of gunshot wounds but did not elaborate.
Calls to the department for information have not been returned.
