A man who lives at 1 Fairview Ave. called 911 at 10:40 a.m. Tuesday to report two men breaking into his home. The man yelled at the two burglars that he was calling the police, at which point they took off running toward Maple Street, according to police.
Officers flooded the area, police said, but were not able to immediately locate the suspects.
Detectives learned that Hall was one of the suspects, police said. They said that he and Pineda, who lives at 1 Fairview Ave., had been involved in an altercation earlier in the day. The altercation led to the burglary, according to police. Pineda was not home at the time of the burglary, police said.
Detectives Justin Bisceglie and Courtney Downer were able to recover a stolen firearm and arrest Hall later in the day, according to police. Pineda was arrested separately, police said.
Police are still searching for the second burglary suspect, and are asking anyone with information to contact 203-854-3111.
