The incident took place around 1:58 p.m., Wednesday, April 24, on Arctic Street between its intersection with Pembroke Street and Brooks Street, said Bridgeport Police Spokesman Terron Jones.

An investigation found that an Ansonia man was traveling eastbound on Arctic Street driving a 2018 Yongfu Falcon 250cc motorcycle/scooter.

As the motorcycle/scooter approached the area of 580 Arctic Street a Bridgeport woman traveling westbound, in a 2004 Acura TSX, attempted to turn left into the driveway of 580 Arctic Street and collided with the motorcycle, Jones said.

This caused the operator of the motorcycle to be ejected and strike a parked car. As a result of the crash, the operator of the motorcycle suffered severe injury to his lower left leg. The motorcycle was found lying next to the parked vehicle, he added.

The driver of the motorcycle/scooter was transported to Bridgeport Hospital to undergo surgery. He’s listed in stable condition.

The driver of the Acura was issued a ticket for failure to grant the right of way.

The injured scooter driver has pending motor vehicle charges, Jones said.

The crash is still under investigation.
