Samuel Ames-Castillo, 28, was charged with second-degree breach of peace, second-degree criminal mischief and second-degree reckless endangerment. He was held on $15,000 bond and will appear in court April 23.

The arrest stemmed from an incident March 15 at Norwalk Hospital. Ames-Castillo was taken there after being found drunk in the Webster Street parking lot, police said. At about 4 a.m., hospital staff found him standing in his room and masturbating with the door open, according to police reports. The employees closed the door, at which point he became violent, police said.

Ames-Castillo started yelling and smashed a stool through the room door, shattering the glass, according to police. Hospital staff members managed to strap him to a bed and sedate him before calling the police, the police report said.

A warrant was issued for Ames-Castillo's arrest, and he was taken into custody at his home Thursday.
