Paula Sanchez, 57, was charged with second-degree threatening, second-degree breach of peace and risk of injury to a minor. She was held on a $9,000 bond and will appear in court July 30.
A 25-year-old resident arrived at the parking lot of Washington Village around 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, with her 4-year-old daughter to find a couple of trash cans blocking off some parking spots. When she attempted to move the cans, Sanchez came out and started yelling at her, police said. She was screaming obscenities at the woman and her daughter and threatening them, causing the woman to fear for their safety, according to police reports.
She called the police, who arrived and tried to talk to Sanchez. Police said that Sanchez began yelling at the officers and would not calm down. She refused to talk to the officers, and after they spoke to the woman she continued to scream at them, according to police. She was then placed under arrest. Sanchez then said that she was suffering from a medical issue and paramedics were called. She began to scream again at the officers before paramedics arrived and took her to the hospital, according to police reports.
