The 23-year-old woman told police that she was in her kitchen at about 5 p.m. Tuesday when she heard the sound of a gunshot and felt the bullet fly past her head.

Her 2-month-old daughter was in the house with her at the time, police said. The bullet entered the home, went through a bedroom wall and into the kitchen, police said.

Officers canvassed the area and spoke to neighbors, who said they believed the shot came from a nearby home, police said.

Officers checked on the home but did not find any guns, police said. The Detective Bureau was called and is continuing to investigate the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
