The man had left a SoNo bar, where he had had a few drinks with friends, and was returning to his car parked on West Avenue, police said. He was walking in the Oyster Shell Park area when he was grabbed by one assailant, who tried to throw him to the ground, while the second attacked, pulled out what was described as a 6-inch knife and demanded that the man hand over cash and his iPhone while telling him not to "try anything," said Sgt. Sofia Gulino.

The suspects, who were described as in their late teens or early 20s, fled on foot. The victim found an officer working at a side job to report the robbery.

The man didn't suffer any injuries in the attack, police said.
