A team of police negotiators had entered the area around the housing complex on Suncrest Road, where a man had threatened people with a knife, the Hour said.

A police negotiator was using a bullhorn and asking the suspect to come out of his home, where he was barricaded, the Hour said.

At about 4 p.m., the Norwalk Police Department said via Twitter that motorists should avoid Suncrest Road due to police activity. The area is in West Norwalk, just north of Route 1 near the Best Buy.
