Norwalk Officers Spy Smoke From Car, Arrest 4 On Drug, Weapons Charges

NORWALK, Conn. – Four people face drug and weapon charges after they were stopped in a car with marijuana and a BB gun in Norwalk, according to police reports.

Officers on patrol in an unmarked police vehicle passed a parked car on Sheridan Street with a large amount of smoke coming out of cracked windows, police said. Officers believed the smoke smelled like marijuana, according to the police report.

Officers approached the car and saw four people inside with a marijuana-filled cigar on the floor, police said. A search of the car turned up 12 individually wrapped bags of marijuana and a BB gun with its safety tip colored black, to hide the fact that it was a replica, according to the police report.

None of the people inside the car claimed ownership of the items, and all four were placed under arrest, police said. Each of the four was charged with marijuana possession, sale possession within 1,500 feet of a school, illegal distribution of marijuana and having a weapon in a motor vehicle. The four are due in court on Sept. 18.
