NORWALK, Conn. An East Norwalk home and its attached garage were fully involved in flames when the Norwalk Fire Department arrived Tuesday evening, Deputy Chief Gino Gatto said. A work van that belonged to the homeowner was completely consumed, as well as a riding lawn tractor and leaf blower. The fire was quickly extinguished and no one was injured, Gatto said.
Firefighters responded to the call that came in around 7:34 p.m. for the 2 ½-story home at 7 Braybourne Drive and found the fire extending to the second story on two sides of the two-car garage. They stretched a hose line, began putting out the fire and searched the home, finding it unoccupied.
A small dog was removed from the residence uninjured, fire officials said.
The fire is being investigated by Inspector Luca Feola of the Fire Marshal's office. A total of 26 fire personnel responded to the scene.
