NORWALK, Conn. -- A Norwalk barber offering more than just haircuts was charged with selling prescription pills from his barbershop, according to police.

Wallace King, 50, was charged with three counts of possession of narcotics, three counts of sale of prescription drugs, and one count of failure to keep drugs in their original container. He was held on a combined bond of $150,000 and went to court Friday morning.

The arrest stemmed from an investigation conducted by the Special Services Division over the past six months. Police said that investigators received information that King was selling prescription pills out of his Main Street business, King's Barbershop.

During the investigation, undercover officers made two purchases of prescription pills from King at his barbershop and at his car, according to police reports.

Arrest and search warrants were obtained and executed Thursday afternoon. King was taken into custody without incident, police said.

A search of his barbershop and car yielded several prescription bottles with different pills, according to police. Officers recovered 30 oxycodone 30 mg pills, 20 oxycodone 20 mg pills, two hydrocodone 325 mg pills and three oxycodone hydrochloride pills, according to police reports. None of the pills were in their original containers, police said.
